GUEST ARTIST
Jeff Bernett has been playing the guitar since he was 13 years old. After being inspired to pick up the instrument by his older brother and uncle, he began like many young guitarists—learning songs by ear from his favorite bands at the time, Nirvana and Creedence Clearwater Revival. He also had the good fortune of being taught by his older brother, his uncle, and his guitar teacher Mark Arneson—a Minneapolis-based multi-instrumentalist, producer, and songwriter.
Jeff has played guitar and bass in a number of bands, one of which, The Rule, even had the privilege of touring the United States as Cyndi Lauper's support act on her 2006 Body Acoustic tour. He also has been fortunate enough to travel overseas to play music—most notably in Qatar to play on the United States Air Force base in Doha, as well as São Paulo.
In 2018, Jeff became the guitarist and musical director for Starlette's Web—a tribute to women in pop, rock, and country from the 80s to today. Early on as the band's musical director, Jeff came up with the idea for Caedence—a browser-based music collaboration software that allows musicians to sync and customize music charts, lyrics, audio, MIDI, visuals, and more across devices in real time.
Caedence has allowed Jeff to combine his love of music and technology in a way that helps other artists realize their creative vision with less time, money, and effort. The beta version of the software is set to be released in 2023.
