ANGELA SINDELI Angela Sindeli is a highly accomplished soprano from Bucharest, Romania. She holds a Ph.D. in Myth, Seduction, and Mystery: Women in G.F. Handel's Opera. Angela has performed in prestigious venues worldwide and is a founding member of the duo La Locura.

Born in Bucharest, Romania, Angela Sindeli has graduated the Faculty of Performing Arts (Singing) – Bachelor and Master levels – at the National University of Music Bucharest, where – in 2014 – she has been awarded Summa cum laude her PhD title – with the thesis: Myth, seduction, mystery: women in G.F. Handel’s opera, coordinated by Prof. Univ. Dr. Dan Dediu. Her artistic career was constantly trained by the Romanian sopranos Marina Mirea and Mariana Colpos. She also attended several master classes with famous singers worldwide: Nelly Miricioiu, Montserrat Caballe, Carmen Lavani, Claudia Visca, Sylvia Greenberg, Laurie Reviol, Ulrike Sonntag.
Angela Sindeli gained various scholarships, such as: Erasmus grants at the Conservatorio Statale „Dall’Abacco”, Verona and at the “Joseph Haydn”Konservatorium, Eisenstadt, European grants at the International Summer AcademyPrague – Wien – Budapest (coordinated by MDW) and LiedForum – Intensive Program organized and promoted by the UDK Berlin.
The Romanian soprano is often invited to sing in concerts and recitals from Bucharest and abroad. She performs a wide diversity of repertories, varying from opera to lied and oratorios. In the last years, she has dedicated herself to the early music and she performed in many concert halls and festivals (Radio Broadcasting Company, Romanian Athenaeum, Dalles Hall, George Enescu Museum, Romanian History Museum, National Museum of Maps and Ancient Books, The Italian Institute Vito Grasso, The Spanish Institute Cervantes, The Hungarian Institute Balassi – Bucharest, Black Church – Brasov, Arcus Castle – Covasna, National Athenaeum Gh. Pastia – Focsani (within the Festival Rinascimento Musici), Schloss Esterhazy – Eisenstadt, with Consilium musicum Josephinum, Casa Boggian, Chiesa San Tommaso – Verona, Chiesa San Francesco, Concattedrale and Museo di Ostuni), Teatro Filarmonico Giuseppe Verdi Brindisi.
In 2017, together with the guitarist Tudor Niculescu – Mizil, Angela Șindeli creates the duo La locura. This ensemble performs a wide repertoire starting from early Baroque to modern pieces. They have already performed in important artistic events, such as Estivalul de chitară (2017), organized by Kitarodia Romania.
Since 2012, as a vocal pedagogy teacher at the National University of Music Bucharest, Angela Sindeli has trained – inside the frame of the Faculty of Composition, Musicology and Music Pedagogy – soloists and small vocal ensembles, with a special focus on the early music repertoire.
Angela Sindeli is also experienced in coordinating European projects, promoted by the National University of Music Bucharest, as she is also representing the International Relations Department of the same institution.
She recently gained the Executive Graduate Certificate in Social Entrepreneurship, Organizational Management & Community Development at The Global Leaders Program (cohort 2022). More about that at www.globalleadersprogram.com
