The Role of User-Generated Content in Artistic Branding

What is artistic branding? Whatever business you would like to start or the product you want to create, it’s all based on your artistic vision. For that specific vision to reach mass audiences, you must market it in a way that people would want to see and will remember it. This is an important start to put emphasis on user-generated content to support the branding of your creations. ​

When users log onto their social media platforms, the content they see on their explore pages is based on their interests, the content they view often, and suggested content that they might like. As an artist, trying to create a brand, you must take into consideration these factors when producing your content for online audiences. You must be able to structure it in a way that will have the best results.

The first step is to know who your target audience is, that is the best way to generate appropriate content.
 
  • What is their demographic? The overall age demographics in marketing are under 17, 18-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55-64, and 65 and up. Each group has its own characteristics, which is important to take note of. This will help cater to the experience that you want to create for your audience. 
  • What is their educational background or occupation? Education level and occupation usually indicate a person’s standard of living and income, which play a role in how they engage with your content.    
  • Where do they live? This falls into relatability. Depending on what you do, your content could connect with some audiences in a different geographical area than others. 

After understanding all these aspects, then you can produce proper content for your audiences. The next step is to go over that content and other marketing strategies with a fine-tooth comb. There are small things that could be a huge factor in the success of your brand. Small things such as verbiage, scheduling of content uploads, and color schemes.

There should be a big emphasis on user-generated content because of the progression of the technology era and digital marketing. You can’t just put anything out there and expect to have an overwhelming number of positive results. There is a strategy behind it. User-generated content is just as it sounds, content that is specifically planned to be on a user's explore page because it falls into their interests. 

This specially structured content will allow the author to get across to their users and establish a relationship. It will also give them an online presence and expand their audience because in social media the more followers you have, the easier it is to gain more followers. This thread should continue throughout the artistic branding journey and help you to succeed in your career!
