Exploring Influencer Marketing in the Creative Industries

The rise of social media platforms throughout the last few decades has created a billion-dollar industry on platforms like TikTok and Instagram, so exploring its potential is important. Considering the role influencer marketing has carved out, exploring the place it has is important, especially for creatives. ​
When it comes to Influencer Marketing, it may seem simple, but there is a lot more to it than it seems. Everything from relatability to consistency, and everything in between is essential to consider, so without any further ado, let me tell you some of the most important aspects to keep in mind when it comes to exploring influencer marketing in the artistic industry.

Authenticity

Just because an influencer has a large fanbase, it doesn’t mean that collaborating with them will create an authentic collaboration. When it comes to looking for influencers that promote your services or products, keeping it true to yourself is the key to success now and into the future. 

When looking for influencers, make sure they have similar interests and connect with you, because they are the people that have the audience you want to market to. In the long-term, maintaining authenticity will pay off much more than a quick buck with some big name does early on.

Consistency

After finding an influencer to market your products, and having success initially, it’s important to maintain consistency with your approach. There is not really any specific timing or requirements when it comes to consistency, but make sure the content you produce maintains the interest of your audience. 

One of the best examples of maintaining consistency when it comes to influencer collaboration is a brand like Gymshark because although they aren’t in the creative field, they market efficiently and consistently. When you keep your audience interested, your following will grow, so don’t overlook the importance of consistency.

Future Potential

Marketing is not simply important in the present, it is important years into the future, which is a testament to how essential trust is. Developing an audience that relates to influencer posts and is consistently engaged with the content is the equivalent of gaining a customer, which is the goal of marketing in the first place.

By developing an audience that relates to your content and is consistently engaged, as a result, you create an audience that is much more likely to buy your products or services, which helps build a name for yourself in the meantime. All successful brands are aware of their target audience. Therefore when creating content and considering potential influencer collaborations,  keeping your consumer base in mind puts you one step ahead.

Don’t overlook the role that influencer marketing can play in growing your name as an artist or creative of any sort, because it can lead to some amazing things down the line!
